{"value":{"id":873495,"memberId":4282,"member":null,"memberRole":"Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government","uin":"HLWS588","dateMade":"2018-03-28T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":7,"answeringBodyName":"Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government","title":"Bellwin Funding","text":"<p>My Hon Friend the Minister for Local Government (Rishi Sunak) has today made the following Written Ministerial Statement.</p><p>On 13 January 2017, there was a tidal surge on the east coast of England which caused damage to flood defences and led to affected families having to evacuate their homes. I am satisfied that financial assistance under the Bellwin scheme is justified to cover eligible costs incurred by three councils in respect of this flooding.</p><p>A scheme will therefore be established under section 155 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Grant will be paid to the authorities to cover 100 per cent of their eligible costs incurred above a threshold.</p><p>The local authorities are:</p><p>Scarborough Borough Council</p><p>North Norfolk District Council</p><p>Waveney District Council</p><p> </p>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":873494,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2018-03-28T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/873495","method":"GET"}]}
