{"value":{"id":649319,"memberId":4311,"member":null,"memberRole":"The Minister of State, Home Office","uin":"HLWS301","dateMade":"2016-12-01T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":1,"answeringBodyName":"Home Office","title":"Blue Card Directive","text":"<p>My hon Friend the Minister of State for Immigration (Robert Goodwill) has today made the following Written Ministerial Statement:</p><p>I am confirming the Government’s decision that the UK will not opt into the European Commission’s recent proposal for a revised Blue Card Directive, published on 7 June 2016.</p><p>The proposal seeks to increase the EU’s attractiveness to highly skilled workers from outside the EU. It runs counter to the UK’s view that decisions on who comes to the country are best framed at national level in accordance with national assessments of economic need. It would also undermine our ability to reduce net migration.</p>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":649306,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2016-12-01T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/649319","method":"GET"}]}
