{"value":{"id":423645,"memberId":4161,"member":null,"memberRole":"Lords Spokesman, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs ","uin":"HLWS263","dateMade":"2015-10-26T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":13,"answeringBodyName":"Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs","title":"Agenda for October EU Environment Council","text":"<p>My Hon Friend the Parliamentary under Secretary of State (Rory Stewart) has today made the following statement.</p><p>I will attend the EU Environment Council in Luxembourg on 26 October.</p><p> </p><p>Following the adoption of the agenda the list of “A” items will be approved.</p><p> </p><p>During the legislative deliberations, there will be a policy debate on the proposal for a Directive reforming the EU Emissions Trading System.</p><p> </p><p>There will be a non-legislative discussion on Greening the European Semester, with regard to environmentally harmful subsidies and the implementation of environmental legislation. There will also be a discussion following the September UN special summit on sustainable development, which adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.</p><p> </p><p>Over lunch Ministers will be invited to discuss the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.</p><p> </p><p>The following Any Other Business items will be discussed:</p><ol><li>Recent informal meetings preparing for the Paris Climate Change summit.</li><li>The ‘Make it Work’ initiative for better regulation on European environmental policy.</li><li>Real driving emissions and manipulation of emission control systems in cars, and links to air quality in the EU.</li></ol>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":423640,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2015-10-26T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/423645","method":"GET"}]}
