{"value":{"id":179405,"memberId":1091,"member":null,"memberRole":"The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office ","uin":"HLWS259","dateMade":"2015-02-12T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":1,"answeringBodyName":"Home Office","title":"Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures  ","text":"<p>My rt hon Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department (Theresa May) has today made the following Written Ministerial Statement:</p><p>Clause 17 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Bill requires the Secretary of State to publish factors that she considers are appropriate to take into account when deciding whether to impose restrictions under paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the TPIM Act (travel restrictions).</p><p>The following factors are appropriate to take into account when deciding whether to impose restrictions under paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the TPIM Act (travel restrictions):</p><ul><li>the need to prevent or restrict a TPIM subject’s involvement in terrorism-related activity;</li><li>the personal circumstances of the individual;</li><li>proximity to travel links including public transport, airports, ports and international rail terminals;</li><li>the availability of services and amenities, including access to employment, education, places of worship and medical facilities;</li><li>proximity to prohibited associates;</li><li>proximity to positive personal influences;</li><li>location of UK resident family members;</li><li>community demographics.</li></ul><p>Decisions about whether to impose travel restrictions on a TPIM subject will be taken on a case-by-case basis and will reflect the need to minimise the risk that the individual poses to the public while taking into account the personal circumstances of the individual in question.</p>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":179398,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2015-02-12T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/179405","method":"GET"}]}
