{"value":{"id":1780728,"memberId":3154,"member":null,"memberRole":"Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice","uin":"HLWS485","dateMade":"2025-03-04T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":54,"answeringBodyName":"Ministry of Justice","title":"2024-25 Ministry of Justice Contingencies Fund Advance","text":"<p>My Hon Friend, the Minister of State for Justice (Sarah Sackman KC MP), has today made the following statement:</p><p>&quot;The Ministry of Justice requires an advance to discharge its commitments which are set out in its Supplementary Estimate 2024-25, published on 11 February 2025 as HC 655 (Central Government Supply Estimates 2024-25, Supplementary Estimates).</p><p> </p><p>This is a temporary cash advance due to the timing of Royal Assent for the Supply and Appropriation (Anticipation and Adjustments) Bill (‘the Supply Bill’), and does not reflect an overspend.</p><p> </p><p>Once the Supply Bill achieves Royal Assent the advance will be repaid in full.</p><p> </p><p>Parliamentary approval for additional resources of £300,000,000 will be sought in a Supplementary Estimate for the Ministry of Justice. Pending that approval, urgent expenditure estimated at £300,000,000 will be met by repayable cash advances from the Contingencies Fund.&quot;</p>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":false,"linkedStatements":null,"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/1780728","method":"GET"}]}
