{"value":{"id":1698231,"memberId":4517,"member":null,"memberRole":"Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport","uin":"HCWS374","dateMade":"2024-03-25T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":217,"answeringBodyName":"Department for Culture, Media and Sport","title":"Extension of deadline for representations on anticipated acquisition of Telegraph Media Group Limited","text":"<p>On 19 March, I confirmed to Parliament that, on the basis of assessments by the Competition and Markets Authority and by Ofcom, I am minded to refer the anticipated acquisition of Telegraph Media Group Ltd (TMG) by RB Investco Ltd to a Phase 2 investigation on the grounds of the need for accurate presentation of news and free expression of opinion in newspapers.</p><p>I set a deadline of 9am on Monday 25 March 2024 to allow the parties the opportunity to make representations to me before I reach a final decision.</p><p>Further to a request from one of the Parties, I have confirmed an extension to that deadline, which will now be 9am on Tuesday 2 April 2024.</p><p> </p>","house":"Commons","noticeNumber":1,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":1698234,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2024-03-25T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/1698231","method":"GET"}]}
