{"value":{"id":1230431,"memberId":4311,"member":null,"memberRole":"The Minister of State, Home Office","uin":"HLWS426","dateMade":"2020-09-02T00:00:00","answeringBodyId":1,"answeringBodyName":"Home Office","title":"Biennial Report of the National DNA Database Strategy Board","text":"<p>My hon Friend the Minister of State for Crime, Policing and the Fire Service (Kit Malthouse) has today made the following Written Ministerial Statement:</p><p>I am pleased to announce that I am, today, publishing the Annual Report of the National DNA Database Strategy Board for 2018-20. This report covers the National Fingerprints Database and the National DNA Database (NDNAD).</p><p> </p><p>The Strategy Board Chair, ACC Ben Snuggs, has presented the Annual Report of the National DNA Database to the Home Secretary. Publication of the Report is a statutory requirement under section 63AB(7) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 as inserted by section 24 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.</p><p> </p><p>The Report shows the important contribution that the NDNAD and the National Fingerprint Databases (policing collections) make to supporting policing and solving crimes. I am grateful to the Strategy Board for their commitment to fulfilling their statutory functions.</p><p> </p><p>The report is today being laid before the House and copies will be available from the Vote Office.</p>","house":"Lords","noticeNumber":0,"hasAttachments":false,"hasLinkedStatements":true,"linkedStatements":[{"linkedStatementId":1230424,"linkType":"JointStatement","linkDate":"2020-09-02T00:00:00"}],"attachments":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Statements/1230431","method":"GET"}]}
