For many years our young people have not had the opportunity and support they deserve. Under the last government, between 2021 and 2024, the number of young people not in education, employment or training increased by 250,000.</p><p> </p><p>That is why, over the next three years, we are investing £2.5 billion into the Youth Guarantee and the Growth and Skills Levy to support nearly one million 16–24-year-olds into work, education or training. This investment will also deliver up to 300,000 opportunities for workplace experience and training and unlock up to 200,000 jobs through the £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant, the £2,000 apprenticeship incentive and guaranteeing jobs for long-term unemployed young people on Universal Credit.</p><p> </p><p>In Grantham Jobcentre, staff provide employment support to young people aged 18 to 24, helping them build skills, look for opportunities and move into work. Youth Employability Coaches offer tailored, one-to-one support to those requiring more intensive assistance. The Jobcentre also hosts regular information sessions on apprenticeships, featuring guest employers and training providers.</p><p> </p><p>The Jobcentre also works closely with local employers, including Lincolnshire Co-Op and B&amp;M to provide work experience and employment opportunities to support young people develop skills and gain valuable experience to help them progress into employment.</p><p> </p><p>The information on geographic youth unemployment figures is published and available at: <a href=\"https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/default.asp\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/default.asp</a>.
