The Department has published research, showing that using digital twins to integrate transport modes could deliver over £1.85bn of gross benefits in ten years, on top of the value digital twins are already delivering as deployed in London, Tees Valley and other leading UK regions.</p><p> </p><p>We are proactively supporting the UK industry and public sector to seize the benefits of this technology, including through the publication of a clear Vision and Roadmap to 2035 by the Transport Research and Innovation Board. The Department has committed in the Transport Data Action Plan (2026) to £2m of 100% funding for innovation projects through the Transport Research and Innovation Grants; and £30m in the Better Connected strategy (2026) to support local authorities to maximise the benefits of locally-led integration through digital twins.</p><p> </p>","originalAnswerText":"","comparableAnswerText":"","dateAnswerCorrected":null,"dateHoldingAnswer":null,"attachmentCount":0,"heading":"Transport: Infrastructure","attachments":[],"groupedQuestionsDates":[]},"links":[{"rel":"self","href":"/Questions/1908014","method":"GET"}]}
