However, recent data on the Omicron variant shows that two to four weeks after a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose, vaccine effectiveness against symptomatic infection ranged from approximately 65 to 75%, reducing to 55 to 70% at five to nine weeks and 40 to 50% from 10 or more weeks after the booster dose.
