Alongside the plan, the Government launched a £1.5 million R&D competition, match-funding industry investment in zero emission marine technologies.</p><p> </p><p>Building on the vision set out in the plan, in November 2020 the Government announced a £20 million Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition, which will encourage investment in the UK design and development of zero emission technology.</p><p> </p><p>In parallel, the Government is developing a Transport Decarbonisation Plan (TDP) that puts transport on a path to delivering its contributions to carbon budgets and net zero by 2050.
